Apprenticeships and work-based learning are essential for providing young people with the information and skills they need for a successful transition into the workforce.

VET practitioners need access to useful tools and resources to help them optimise their teaching strategies and produce successful and engaging learning experiences for their students.

Useful resources for VET practices and tools

  • European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA): an initiative for VET practitioners to improve the supply, quality and reputation of apprenticeships in Europe and to support apprentice mobility. Its online library provides access to different types of materials, practical tools and guidance. The hub offers various activities, e.g. live discussions, podcasts and webinars. Subscribe for the newsletter and/or join the Alliance here.
  • Self-assessment resources: SOLITY, WEDEVET and TUTOR projects are helping VET providers evaluate their social impact and performance, and develop inclusive learning environments.
  • Various reports present approaches to the professional development of VET teachers and trainers in school and work-based settings in 29 European countries, including both national and EU-funded initiatives.
  • Mobility for learners and staff in VET: VET staff can apply for Erasmus+ funding for a wide variety of professional development activities across Europe such as job shadowing, professional courses and more.
