Countering disinformation

History education is key in countering disinformation, encouraging critical thinking, promoting civic engagement and tackling hate speech. By teaching young people how to cross-reference data from multiple sources to verify facts, history education can also help in pupils to recognise disinformation and unreliable news sources.
